Knappa High School (9th-12th grade)
The district bond measure in 2001 provided a renovation to the main school structure and improvements to the gymnasium, locker rooms, and other classrooms. A recent 2021 bond, district "general fund" maintenance resources and a seismic rehabilitation grant have provided a modern and safe facility, ideal for student learning. KHS provides a rich set of electives for a small school with students choosing from forestry, woods technology, welding, art, Spanish, as well as a full range of core classes including AP class offerings. Also, through partnerships with Clatsop Community College and Southern Oregon University, Knappa High School graduates can leave Knappa with over 30 college credits. With our small size, students receive individual instruction needed to fulfill the rigorous graduation requirements that the State of Oregon now has in place. Knappa students enjoy a personalized learning environment where they are connected to caring adults and one another. The school runs an alternative education program, a dance program, and regularly makes state-level post season appearances in track, cross country, basketball, baseball, wrestling, and softball. Knappa High School is accredited, provides flexible online options (as needed), and welcomes home-school families for classes that they need with a "live" teacher.
